Founded in 1997, the School of the World in Jaco, Costa Rica combines several elements of a perfect learning vacation. A surf camp, language school, yoga retreat, photography workshop and boutiquehotel under one roof. The school offers Spanish courses from beginner to advanced level. In addition to the general Spanish lessons, you can choose from several other courses, activities and workshops. The extra activities are usually thought in English. For example you can study the fundamentals of photography, digital workflow, and basic digital editing. Intermediate and advanced photographers learn new shooting techniques and advanced editing. Students of all skill levels benefit from having a local guide take them to shoot at amazing locations they otherwise would never see.

Our partner school is located in a quiet neighborhood, close to the town center of Jaco and is just a few minutes walk from the beach, dozens of great restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and everything else you could need. Free Wi-Fi is offered throughout the school building and the onsite student accommodation. Students can make use of the shared kitchen and dining area, 12 guestrooms, outdoor lounge, pool, garden, and lots of great spots to hang out and relax. The friendly school staff will advice you on any happenings in and around Jaco.
